Stanford Camp Hiking Map
Fallen Leaf Lake and the surrounding Glen Alpine wilderness are some of my favorite spots to explore, and my golden retriever’s favorite spot for his nightly walks. The geographically features of this area are very diverse with rock formations, forest, open meadows and water falls. Basically, there’s always something visually stunning to look at.

Sitting at the base of Cathedral ridge and on the shores of Fallen Leaf Lake is Standford Sierra Conference Center. Standford Camps history dates back to 1846 and in 1925 John Steinbeck spent a summer working at camp. For the past three summers I’ve worked with the Marketing Director to produce/shoot/edit informational web videos for the camp.

For this video, we really wanted to show the scenic beauty of the area and give the guest a little overview of the new interactive map. We used Morgan on camera as the spoke person for the camp, he is an avid hiker and also helped put together the new interactive map. After shooting the interview with Morgan, I began collecting scenic B-Roll of the area. I used both a 5dmkIII and my Dji Phantom 2 with a GoPro Hero 3+ to get both ground and Aerial footage.
It’s always a pleasure to work with the fun staff out at camp, for more information check out their website.
Here’s a sailing and a paddle board video we produced a couple summers ago.
