Gunbarrel 25

The Gunbarrel 25 is a crazy ski event that challenges competitors to make 25 laps down Glen Plakes signature run at Heavenly, the Gunbarrel. This is my third time shooting the event, and by far the most people I’ve seen competing. It’s really a cool mix of people from all over the country, some as far a New York ventured out to be apart of the event. Lot’s of kids, even a 5 year old, heard he made 10 laps. Another great event, Glen is awesome!

The next day I had the honor of taking a few Laps with Glen and Friends on Gunbarrel.

April Snow Continues

Wow! this season just keeps going, we had some more super light and dry blower powder today. We filmed mainly off the front side of the mountain. The first couple of hours we headed out “hogsback” looking for some shots with the lake as the back drop. Even with the size of Lake Tahoe, it’s really hard to get a good lake shot. I think we found a few goodies, check out the shot of Graham Raymond airing out towards the Lake. After hogsback, we got are usually snow-mo  ride from ski patrol to our secret filming grounds. Boy was it deep in there! what a way to cap off the season. My prediction is powder all month, sorry spring skiing lovers.

Spring Loaded at Heavenly

Spring is a great time here in Tahoe, nice mild days, and great spring skiing. This past weekend was a busy one as Heavenly kicked off their Spring Loaded events. Saturday was a blast, pond skimming, bands, rail jam, art show, and concert. Snow Reporter Megan Hammitt and I had the chance to check out all the events. Rolled with all the toys today, shot mainly on the Panasonic HVX 200, art show and concert shot with the Canon 5d mkII dslr.

Groms Groovin’ it up

Had the pleasure of spending the afternoon filming with some of the local Heavenly Groms. These guys are were getting after it in the Groove terrain park, they are fearless. The group included; brothers Tony and Vinny Piccinono, brother/sister team of Preston and Veta Hallen, and last but not least Zion Gandolfo. It was a fun afternoon had by all, these guys make me smile. Check out my video from the day.

South Shore Rising RailJam

The second annual South Shore Rising RailJam took place this past weekend in the Hot Gossip parking lot. The guys over at On Course Events set up a cool little course with a “Chuck Norris” pole bonk, and a wall ride at the bottom. There was a great turn out, lots of little guys, definitely the rising generation of shredders here in South Lake Tahoe. My friend Graham Raymond took home the win and cash for the 18+ division (Check the blog below to see more of Graham Riding). Dane Henry shot this video all with the canon 5d mkII, and I put together the edit.
