ESPN – Elite 11 Finals

The Elite 11 Quarterback competition selects the top 25 high school quarterbacks in the country to compete for a spot in the top 11 and overall MVP. The camp/competition is coached by former Superbowl Champion Trent Dilfer and a talented line up of assistant coaches. The goal of the camp is to challenge and groom these young elite athletes for the next chapter in their careers. Trent and his team must be doing something right, last season 22 of the starting QB’s in the NFL came up through the camp.

I was one of the specialty cameras on this show, tasked with shooting interviews and creative transitional b-roll elements. Along side my good friend Dane Henry we shot on two RED Scarlet X’s and a Canon 5dmkII. Once again it was an awesome trip working with the talented team at DLP Entertainment, hats off to Executive Producers Micheal Hughes and Mark Mayer. Be sure to check out the 2 part mini documentary series on ESPN August 7th & 14th at 7pm Eastern and 4pm Pacific.

What a good looking crew!

AT&T – Paralympic Athlete Profiles

I just got back from a week long shoot at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs with the all star crew from DLP Entertainment. We had a unique opportunity to follow and document a day in the life of Team USA Paralympic athletes. Dave Denniston is a former NCAA swimming champion from Auburn University, a 2008 U.S. Paralympian and currently the coach of the US Paralympic swim team. Dave has a heart of gold, a passion for his sport and a remarkable story about the ups and downs of life. We also had the pleasure of meeting 2011 USA Shooting Paralympic Athlete of the Year Eric Hollen and his daughter Payton, an aspiring ski racer. Really inspiring story about this Father/Daughter team chasing their dreams of Olympic gold. Look out for Eric this summer in the Paralympic games in London, Good luck Eric!

Heavenly Mountain – Season Recap 11/12

Another Ski season is on the books here at Heavenly Mountain Resort. I can honestly say this season was quite an interesting contrast to last years record breaking snow fall. This winter marked one of the driest winters in over 100 years here in Lake Tahoe. The months just kept passing without a single snowflake from mother nature. The storms finally arrived late in the season and we received the bulk of our seasonal snowfall around mid March. Despite the lack of snow, there was still plenty of memorable days and vertical feet logged. Check out some of my favorite highlights from this year.

Fox Sports – San Diego Padres Open

I Just got back from a week long shoot in San Diego filming the Padres for Fox Sports and DLP Entertainment. The objective of the project was to shoot the opening montage for the Padres, which airs before every game on Fox Sports. This was a really cool assignment, we shot just about every corner of San Diego in a really artistic and stylized way, basically a camera mans dream. For this shoot we wanted to roll as light as possible, so naturally the camera of choice was the Canon 5d MKII, an arsenal of lenses and Kessler pocket dollies to add a bit of movement to the shots. Check out this slick edit from the boys over at DLP Entertainment.

Heavenly Summer Videos

I recently shot and edited a couple summer videos for Heavenly Mountain Resort. New to the mountain is Summer Tubing, a newly designed 500 foot tubing surface with a 65 foot vertical drop. I have to admit it’s a fun little ride, perfect for the kiddies. I had a fun afternoon shooting this little video and used a couple of Go Pro cameras to add some fun shots to the piece.

I also put together a video for Heavenly’s annual mountain clean up day. This is a great event where employee’s get the chance to help clean up the mountain. Lot’s of trash was removed from the mountain, the most popular finds were plastic water bottles, lift tickets and beer bottles. However, people did find some unique items like skis, snowboards, rings, poker chips and digital cameras.
