High Roller Team – Sunset Shoot

Another busy week of shooting and editing fly’s by. Last week I was lucky enough to be a part of a sunset Photo/Video shoot with the Heavenly High Roller Team. What an amazing shoot, 15 -20 of South Lake Tahoe’s best Skiers and Snowboarders got to session in Canyon Park until sundown. Not to mention a perfect Tahoe sunset that lit up the sky with the most unbelievable colors.

Terren Gomez was shooting the still images and Dane Henry and I captured the video. We brought out all the toys, 2 Panasonic HVX’s, Dolly, Jib Arm…..

Lifestyle Shoot

Another shoot for Heavenly Mt. Resort, Dane Henry and I captured Après Ski and lifestyle shots in Heavenly’s California bar. Some hard work went into this production and the end product is astonishing. We had a full set up rolling with 2 cameras, lights, jib arm and dollies. Our wonderful models all looked great, engulfed in vibrant colors. Thanks to the bar tender for making some great looking drinks, as well as pulling down the shot ski. Look out for these shots to appear in up coming videos and broadcast commercials for Heavenly Mt Resort.

Grooming at Heavenly

This video gives an inside look into Heavenly Mt Resort’s amazing fleet of Prinoth Bison X Snowcats. Dane Henry got up at 4am and rode along with Heavenlys grooming manager Todd Rutis to capture some amazing footage of the snowcat fleet in action. The groomers go out every night and cover Heavenly’s 4800 acres with miles of perfect corduroy. The snowcats are also responsible for building and shaping all the features in Heavenly’s famous terrain parks.

Thanks to Dane for the great footage, I really enjoyed editing this one.

Celebrity Winterfest

Here is a great event I got to shoot and check out. The Celebrity Winterfest is a fundraiser for Northern California and Nevada Special Olympics. The event teams up high profile companies with celebrities and Special Olympic Athletes to compete head to head with one another. This is a critical fundraiser that helps over 16,000 Special Olympic Athletes.

A couple of the TV stars on hand include; Ryan McPartlin, Scott Micheal Campbell, Tim Abell, and Nicole Sullivan. This was a very positive event, great weather, and of course some awesome skiing.

Heavenly Conditions

This is a short conditions piece from the first week of March. It basically looked like this for an entire week. A large storm cycle dropped up to 5 feet of snow in the Tahoe Basin. This was the first day of the storm. The next day (3/4/09) was INSANE! The snow was literally too deep. This was a fun but challenging shoot, it was blizzard like conditions most of the morning. Heavenly Conditions With The High Roller Team

I caught another great day filming with three Heavenly High Roller Team members, Taylor Chatwin, Kyle and Justin Scmaine. These athletes are all up in comers and some of the youngest members of the team. With 6’ to 12’ of new snow these guy were ready to charge. These kids were glowing with enthusiasm and it really showed in the footage, some amazing stuff.

We were able to get lots of different shots from all over the Mountain, from the top of sky to the bottom of Mott Canyon. A great day of filming by everyone, smiles all around.

Watch out for these guys at the up coming jackpot rail jam.
